The beginning...

Welcome to my photography blog. Here you'll see what I have been doing and my future plans. To get the ball rolling, on Sunday 16th July I'll be travelling down to London for a charity fundraising rail excursion. Here's a photograph taken at Birmingham New Street of the last one I attended. The tour will be using a different pair of these old school English Electric 'Class 20' locomotives.

The excursion named "The Charitable Chibble" organised by GB Railfreight will set off on Sunday morning from Ipswich and then over the course of just under 11 and a half hours, we'll travel via Stratford (London), Cambridge, Peterborough, Loughborough, Sheffield, Lincoln, Peterborough (once again), Finsbury Park, Reading and then eventually setting down at Basingstoke. All that for just £55 and it goes to some fantastic causes. This year GB Railfreight will be donating all proceedings to the British Heart Foundation, Woking Homes & The Ripple Project.

Time for another image, here we see another photograph of the previous excursion I travelled on. Taken at York it features the other locomotive type that'll be used on Sunday, the General Motors Class 66 locomotive.

It is hoped Classmate No. 66775 "HMS Argyll F231" dedicated to a Type 23 Frigate ship and recently revealed at the HM Naval Base in Devonport will be one of two Class 66s used on Sunday.
