Scotsman comes to Shildon

Over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of September 2017, 60103 "Flying Scotsman" played the main part in the National Rail Museum's steam gala weekend at their Locomotion facility in Shildon. It was joined in an outdoor display by Battle of Britain Class No. 34051 "Winston Churchill", LNER V2 No. 4771 "Green Arrow" and a British Railways Standard No. 78018. With the football team I follow playing in the exact same location on Saturday, it was a no brainer to check it out.

Crowds turned up in numbers to see and get the chance to get up close with the legend that is "Flying Scotsman". The team at Shildon were incredibly friendly and were keen to have a chat with all the visitors. The younger generation were ecstatic to get the chance to board the footplate of all 4 locomotives on show.
